LSALDF Delivers Donated Goods To Homeless Animals In Area Shelters!
We had a "food drive" in November of 2004 for needy animals in local shelters. We had a box for students to drop off items needed in local shelters (pretty much any food, blankets, towels, etc. are always in demand). We collected well over 350 pounds in donations!!!! This included not only all types of high-quality wet & dry cat & dog food, but toys, and 10 pounds of the relatively expensive Esbilac puppy formula for use in rehabilitating orphaned baby squirrels.
We divvyed up the goods between four shelters: the Hawthorne SPCA, Friends of Animals Foundation, Animal Advocates, and City of LA, Department of Animal Services.
Here are pictures and a summary of our donations to each shelter.
